Established in 2005, providing freelance representatives for Criminal Law firms, IPSA was setup as a response to the increased need for representatives to attend Police Stations on a firms behalf when they are unable to cover the attendance themsleves. IPSA consists of Alex Halliwell, and Graham Rawlinson both fully accredited Police Station representatives. Both Alex and Graham worked together for a large City Centre crime firm in Manchester for several years, and have great experience in dealing with matters as straightforward as simple theft, through to complex matters including serious Fraud, Sexual Offences, and Homicide cases.
Upon accepting your instructions we will attend at the police station (or venue where an interview under caution is taking place) and ensure there are no concerns with the clients detention in custody, we will then obtain disclosure from the police, receive instructions from your client, and thereafter advise them according to their account and the evidence to hand. We will then advise as neccessary throughout the course of the interview, ensuring the Codes of Practice are being adhered to in interview, and intervening if not. Post interview we will advise your client of the possible outcomes relating to bail, charge, no further action etc, and make relevant representations to a Custody Sergeant where neccessary. After leaving the Police Station we will email, or send to you in writing, a complete, detailed file note, compliant with the LSC's requirements, and a completed CDS1 & 2 where necessary. We will also complete upon request a full legal aid form. You will recieve a bill and 30 day invoice detailing our costs.
